Attend and participate in morning production meeting, Tuesday Morning Technical Training meetings and One-on- One meetings.
The Water Technician must be present each morning unless otherwise instructed each day, and be available for a monthly one-on-one meeting with manager. The AM production meetings are to inform general manager of current job status, schedule of events for day, update-billing information of jobs that have been invoiced and discuss any training information.

At all meetings the Water Technician must arrive on-time, and participate fully in the meeting. Each day you must be here no later than 7:28AM for non-meeting days and 6:58AM for Tuesday training days. Roll call is done each morning and if you are late you will be coached, if late again it is a write-up, if you’re late more than 3 times within a 90 day period it could result in termination.

Quickly develop and maintain a working mastery of the proper cleaning & restoration process and procedures according to company and industry standards.
We will be dealing with different situations on each job we encounter. It is your responsibility to understand how to run a project from start to finish for a category 1, 2, 3, Class 1,2,3,4. You will need to demonstrate a core competency on completing these tasks in a timely matter, using proper equipment allocation and using labor appropriately.

Your work will be evaluated by third parties such as insurance companies, property management companies and the customer’s themselves. It is crucial that you are accurate about your drying strategies and that you can back up your invoice with proper documentation.
You may be required to attend occasional classes to obtain education or certification. You are expected to learn the information taught at these classes and pass the tests.

Consistently and accurately complete a scope for each job before leaving job-site.

When arriving at a persons home or business you will be conducting an on-site inspection and moisture mapping process in order to determine the scope of the project and what your drying strategy will be. You MUST complete a sketch, take photos of front of house, each affected area, initial moisture readings, document the moisture readings on moisture logs, complete the initial scope of work being initiated, and finish job notes before leaving the project.

Fully stock and refill product bottles and equipment every morning prior to work, according to the Van Equipment & Product Checklist forms.
Prior to leaving the shop, the must be prepared according to the Van Checklist and the Inventory must be re-stocked according to the Product Inventory checklist.

This ensures that the necessary equipment is available to handle any typical restoration & cleaning scenarios that are likely to be encountered. This prevents wasted time (that neither you, or the company gets paid for) in returning to the shop to get equipment or supplies that should have been on the van in the first place.

There will be random checks at least weekly to make sure that all items on your van are accounted for.

Completely and accurately fill out all paperwork including claim processing form, service authorizations, scope forms, moisture logs, time tracking form, satisfaction forms etc.

During a project you will be required to document the outside and inside temperatures, humidity, structural moisture readings, get service contracts signed, take job notes, photo document the front of house, source of water intrusion, beginning, during and end of project for each room, photos of pre-existing damage, photos of equipment, satisfaction/completion forms.

This is a CRUCIAL part of the job. The difference between being profitable and not being profitable in this industry comes down to how well we document. If we do not document or “forget” or “don’t make time” we will put ourselves in a position where we fall behind on billing, have to explain that to a customer, adjuster, attorney… We do not want to deal with this which is why this is such an important part of your job. You will need to complete the initial scope before leaving the project.

Wash vans and equipment according to schedule.
Vans and equipment must be kept clean and presentable. For this reason there is a schedule for washing the vans. It is the Water Technicians responsibility to follow this schedule diligently. We wash the inside and outside of our vans regularly and they will be inspected for the cleanliness standard each Friday morning and randomly as the management sees necessary.
Follow all dress and grooming codes.
People judge by appearances. Since in many cases, you are the only representative of the company many of these people will ever see, it’s important that you have the proper appearance. This means that your clothes must be clean, wearing uniforms, showered, comb your hair & smell good. As a Water Technician, wearing facial PPE is required – the requirement for wearing facial protection is that you cannot have facial hair that inhibits a full seal around your face. For this reason, you must be clean shaven, or a short, well groomed appearance. If you have questions please see management. Cover any tattoos. The dress code is as follows: Pants: Khaki Belt: Black Uniform Shirt: Company Polo Hat: Company Only Shoes: Black, Tan Or Brown work boots.

8. Be accessible by telephone to respond to requests for emergency after-hour events and be first response to these events.
You will be the first person on site for emergency flood response. This means that if your phone rings you must be available to dispatch to a job-site at all times when you are the on-call crew chief or technician. Not answering your phone is grounds for write up, if this occurs more than 3 times within a 90 day period it can lead to termination.

9. Having very clean, professional looking vehicles and work environment: Your job sites are always left clean and professional looking. And trucks must always be clean, organized, no trash, clean dash, clean interior and exterior. Stocked properly. This commands respect in our industry and puts forth a message to the customer that we are true professionals.
