Job Title: Water Restoration Specialist

DAVITT is seeking a Water Restoration Specialist to support our growing insurance division. Working with
the Director of Insurance, this individual is primarily accountable for drying out water damaged buildings
through properly applying IICRC Standards for water extraction, equipment set up and monitoring, and
mitigating the damage to the property. This position will also assist to scope and estimate property
damage and replacement costs on insurance projects. This is an ideal position for an organized and detailoriented candidate with a background in water mitigation or insurance reconstruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• First response on emergency situations. This may include after-hours response.
• Properly apply emergency service knowledge, including removing water, selective demolition,
setting and monitoring equipment, and mitigating the damage to the property.
• Apply and follow IICRC Standards for restoring a property.
• Protecting the safety and health of the workers and occupants of the building.
• Setting and monitoring equipment - understand the correct equipment type and quantity to allow
proper drying of the building in the shortest time possible.
• Client briefing - review all client concerns and scope of damage. Prior to starting the restoration,
review the damage with the customer and make restoration recommendations.
• General knowledge of the following testing tools and an understanding when they should be
utilized:
o Hydra sensor
o Non intrusive moisture meter
o Penetrating moisture meter
o Thermal hygrometer
• Be available for emergency work including after-hours emergency calls.
• Assist in estimating when necessary.
• Responsible for cleanliness of job-site and care of clients property.
• Maintain and update detailed recordkeeping on a daily basis to ensure accurate tracking and
documentation.
• Attend appropriate training and meetings as required

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building
Technology, or a comparable field of study such as business administration is preferred.
• Five years of related experience in water mitigation and residential construction.
• WRT Certification (Water Damage Restoration Technician)
• ASD Certification (Applied Structural Drying Technician)
• AMRT (Applied Mold Remediation Technician)
• Experience in Xactimate software is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrated working technical knowledge of IICRC Standard for restoration, residential
construction methods, material and regulations.
• Ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks under aggressive timelines.
• Familiarity with software programs for scheduling and budget monitoring.
• Ability to work in team environment
• Demonstrated keen negotiating skills.
• Ability to read blue prints and perform scaled measurements when required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills.
